Reward improves engagement, says Portus

-

Specialist employee benefits consultancy Portus Consulting is highlighting the benefits to employee engagement with the success of its own Employee of the Year scheme.

Online manager Kate Jones, who joined 18 months ago as an automatic enrolment project manager before being promoted to her current role, has won this year’s award with a prize of £500 in Love2Shop vouchers.

Dave Middleton, Chief Executive Officer at Portus Consulting said:

“To reward someone for excelling in their role is really important and the fact that it is voted for by their peers makes the award even more special.’’

“A reward and recognition programme is an important part of engagement and underlines how salary is not the only way to attract and retain staff. Kate’s award reflects her commitment and success over the past year.”

She was voted the winner in a close contest following a ballot among all staff including directors and was commended for her “can-do attitude” and commitment to going the extra mile for clients.

The Employee of the Year is part of the Portus Reward and Recognition programme which includes a range of rewards and ad-hoc awards at the consultancy reflecting the advice it offers to clients on how crucial engagement and communication is in employee benefits.

Portus Consulting works for more than 160 corporate clients including global multinationals and small to medium-sized companies, and focuses on providing strategic advice as well as pro-active benefit broking. Its affiliated business, Portus Online, designs builds and manages online programmes which aim to increase employee engagement.
