Cameron: More power will be transferred from EU to Britain

Britain will be given more power over EU business regulation should the Conservatives be voted into power, leader David Cameron has pledged.

In a speech today, he said more power over European Union laws affecting British businesses would be given to the UK.

His comments come just a week after the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) called for a moratorium on new employment law to help UK companies through the economic downturn.

The BCC said new laws on employment should only be passed providing they offer greater flexibility to the market and create more jobs.

In his speech, the opposition leader also said it is little wonder voters and workers feel so "disillusioned" with politics when they see "so many big decisions that affect their lives being made somewhere else".

The politician added that all MPs’ expenses are soon going to be published and if his party wins the next election they will do the same thing for all other public servants earning over £150,000.
