Since it was launched a year ago G4S’s new online recruitment platform has been processing more than 650 job applications per day. Since the innovative site went ‘live’ in November last year (2010) 2,600 jobs have been advertised, and there have been applications from more than 160,000 people in 184 countries.
G4S says it is revolutionising the recruitment process, and estimates that compared to traditional recruiting measures the savings for the company, in the UK alone, amount to more than £1m.
The new recruitment tool has been developed on the TribePad platform and pushes G4S further along the path towards the goal of running all its recruitment ‘in house’. G4S is taking this strategy to every corner of the globe. Locally hosted sister sites are launching in UK, Africa and Australia/New Zealand later this year.
Already the unique recruitment centre has meant a 300% increase in ‘monthly ‘unique’ job-seekers to more than 130,000 and they are consuming 1.3 million pages per month. Visitors to the site spend an average of 11 minutes online absorbing the G4S employer brand; there has been an increase in internal appointments, and G4S has picked up four online recruitment industry awards.
A stand-alone version of the platform has also been launched to support G4S’s London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic recruitment campaign where G4S is responsible for recruiting, training and managing the workforce that will be securing the London 2012 Games.
Colin Minto, Head of Resourcing (Global) from G4S said: “By moving to a direct resourcing strategy underpinned by innovative technology and recruiting solutions, we have seized absolute control of the delivery of the candidate and employer brand experience, and we’re continuing our journey towards self-sufficiency in candidate flow. All applicants for each role are being processed through our intuitive matching and community based talent databases, which gives us the opportunity to continually engage with the widest possible and diverse job-seeker audiences.”
The new recruitment platform includes multiple ATS integrations, parsing and matching technology, communities and a comprehensive candidate resources environment and has been heralded as major shift and advance in corporate recruiting strategy by many independent industry commentators and technologists.
TribePad’s CEO Lisa Scales commented: “The first year of partnering with any organisation can pose challenges but we are delighted that for us this first year has been a tremendous success. It is incredible to see how hugely positive these initial results are. G4S is the one of the world’s largest private employers, so to be able to deliver such significant financial and quality benefits to the business is a major achievement.”
