He will be responsible for strategy development and growth for the UK business, focusing on delivering first-class business travel management services to companies of all sizes.

The past year has seen the UK Global Business Travel business continue its investment in innovative products and services aimed at helping clients maximise their return on travel investment and benefit from strategically managing travel as a means to gain competitive advantage. With this focus, and the economic recovery from the global recession, in 2010 the UK business experienced a 25% growth in travel sales compared to the prior year.

Anthony commented, “I’m excited to have the opportunity to lead the business in the UK. We’ve seen companies emerge from the recession and now setting their sights on how to grow their business and capitalise on opportunities in the recovery, with business travel acting as a key means to achieve these objectives. The American Express Global Business Travel team in the UK is extremely focused and engaged in helping clients meet their business objectives. I am looking forward to working with them to deliver best in class service and innovative technology to help our clients optimise their travel spending by using travel as an essential investment in contributing to corporate growth.”
