Retail giant Sainsbury’s has revealed that its supplier trainee partnerships scheme has helped more than 100 participants find work since it was first introduced earlier this year.
A total of 104 individuals have been taken on by 66 of Sainsbury’s associates across a wide range of sectors – including retail, facilities management, construction and engineering – each earning 12-month paid contracts.
“I am absolutely thrilled that the partnerships have been such a success,” said Sainsbury’s property director Neil Sachdev. “By working closely with our suppliers, we have made a real difference to lives of over 100 people.”
Successful candidates were recently invited to meet with some of the supermarket firm’s senior executives at a special event at Sainsbury’s Holborn headquarters, where they learned more about Sainsbury’s past, present and future.
