Waste company breach Workplace Regulations

Collier Industrial Waste Ltd has been fined £20,000, plus almost £10,000 in costs, in connection with a breach of the Workplace (Health, Safety and Welfare) Regulations 1992 in the circumstances of an industrial accident in January 2010 in which a 60-year old man sustained multiple injuries when struck by a reversing vehicle at the company’s Trafford Park, Manchester, premises.

Collier had neglected to implement measures which would have prevented the accident
