Women ‘feel under pressure’ to do it all

Many women feel they have to run everything in their life and prioritise their work above their family, new research says.

The Twice As Fast Generation report states women today are living at double the speed their mothers did, which can lead to stress.

Corinne Sweet, a relationship psychologist and self-help author, says: "A lot of women … said that they feel that they have to prioritise work over their families."

She adds that women see themselves as the hub of the family which can cause pressure and stress in some cases.

The expert advises looking out for the signs of this ill health, which include not being able to sleep, palpitations and feeling constantly under pressure.

Ms Sweet says it is important for female workers to learn how to unwind before it affects their relationships and family life.

The report, based on research from Neurofen, states over two-thirds of women would prioritise work over their family.
