Treat workers fairly ‘to gain efficiency boosts’

-

Well-being of staff should be taken into accountEngagement with workers is key to improving efficiency in the workplace, it has been stated.

Angela Baron, an adviser at the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, said it is a key part of conflict resolution and wellness management and corporate culture that managers should listen to the views of their workers to ensure they are being treated fairly.

She commented: "It’s worth having a variety of ways in which people can put their views forward through group discussion, or through writing it on a piece of paper and putting it in a box."

According to chancellor George Osborne in his emergency Budget speech on Tuesday (June 22nd), businesses must tighten their belts in the months ahead if they wish to avoid job losses and therefore anything which improves efficiency should be embraced.
