Diane Ashton-Jeanes – IIM Case Study Winner 2009 with Tom Brass – IIM Chairman

Diane Ashton-Jeanes of Symplexity walked away as the winner of the Institute Of Interim Management’s (IIM) first annual Case Study Finals Night, after successfully delivering a change management programme in the financial sector.

After a close competition, the winner of the IIM Case Study competition emerged as a change management specialist working in a complex banking environment.

The IIM announced the winner and runners up at its finals night dinner. The first in a planned series of events, hosted by Mike Rowbottom, saw five shortlisted interim managers presenting to a judging panel of well-respected industry professionals and a live audience.

Second place went to David Mitchell of Corporate Data Ltd and third place was given to Peter Alderslade for AA Abet Ltd. The finalists also include Paul Liversidge for PL Interim Management Ltd and Andy Rothery for Dynamic Edge Ltd.

Tom Brass, Chairman of the IIM said “We created this event to award recognition to interims everywhere of the very real value that they deliver, both to industry and public sector customers. The five finalists all presented a very compelling case, demonstrating the pivotal role they have played in bringing about change in key organisations. The enthusiasm and passion to bring about change in one of the UK’s leading high street premier banks, and the clear deliverables shown in Diane Ashton-Jeanes’  case study presentation, shone through, which is why she was selected as the winner of this year’s case study finals night.

Diane Ashton-Jeanes, commented, “I’m delighted to have been chosen as winner for this year’s awards. This accolade is a reminder of all of the reasons why I decided to become an interim manager eight years ago. It is pleasing that my passion and enthusiasm for the job was clearly recognised by the judges. Bringing people together through complex and difficult change experiences is extremely rewarding.”

The first prize was an indoor skydiving lesson, complete with an overnight stay in a Hilton Hotel.
