Employee rewards boost for construction sector?

-

Construction workers may soon receive an employee rewards boost ahead of a predicted construction sector boom, it has been claimed.

Recruiter magazine has revealed that construction firms are upping their hiring efforts to prepare for a sector “bounceback”.

The publication has been told by Midas Rec2Rec managing director Richard Clarke that recruiters are starting to “beef up” their teams to meet the UK’s construction needs.

He told the magazine: “Construction firms have cut through the muscle and into the bone, so they will need to really ramp up recruitment to staff these projects.
“A lot of construction still needs to happen.”

Construction firm Morgan Sindall has announced that 32 jobs have been lost due to the closure of its piling division, reports Building.co.uk.

The closure was blamed on a lack of long-term work prospects and will affect 44 members of staff, with 12 redeployed to other areas of the business.

According to the news site, losses were confirmed after a month long consultation with employees.
