Forklift Operator of the Year Award
Forklift Operator of the Year Award

Bookings are now open for Talent in Logistics, the only conference and awards event completely dedicated to the exceptional training, learning and development professionals in the logistics, transport and warehousing industries.

The industry-leading event returns on 21st June 2018 at the Telford International Centre in the West Midlands following the sell-out success of Talent in Logistics 2017.  It includes a daytime conference, offering visitors the chance to attend seminars, panel discussions and debates exploring the key issues facing training, learning and development managers, as well as materials handling equipment and LGV driving Instructors.  The exciting, live Grand Finals of the 2018 Forklift Operator of the Year and Forklift Instructor of the Year competitions will also take place on the day.
The conference agenda provides visitors with a relevant professional development opportunity, with chances to learn new skills and information to benefit their business, as well as the industry as a whole.
Confirmed sessions include a health and safety focused presentation, where Andrew Hopkin from nationwide law firm Browne Jacobson, an expert in prosecutions brought by regulators such as the Health and Safety Executive, will provide practical tips on ensuring compliance. His session will also inform attendees on what to expect following a workplace transport accident, how to handle HSE investigations, plus what you should, and shouldn’t, do.
A further highlight will be a seminar from DVSA (Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency), exploring the future of vocational driver training and giving transport industry visitors a chance to learn more about possible developments in the driver testing process.
To help support attendees in achieving best practice in LGV walk-around checks, a live, educational demonstration with a lorry will take place.  A similar practical session will also enable those from the materials handling sector to learn about the importance of pre-use forklift truck inspections, and how to conduct these properly.
In addition to an extensive conference agenda, the Information Zone will give visitors the chance to meet with experts and suppliers from the transport and logistics industry. This will help businesses to ensure they are procuring and delivering the right training for their people, and their business objectives, while also providing valuable networking opportunities with their peers.
Delegates will be able to cheer on the competitors taking part in the Forklift Operator of the Year and the Forklift Instructor of the Year 2018 contests.  The spectacular competition welcomes some of the most talented lift truck operators and instructors from across the UK and Ireland to test their practical skills and knowledge via a series of pre-use inspection and live action challenges.  The winners of both competitions will be announced later that evening at the Talent in Logistics Awards.
The unique Talent in Logistics Awards recognise and reward the people that are essential to the success of the logistics sector in UK and Ireland. There are categories to celebrate everyone from Training Managers, Driver CPC Training Providers and Instructors, through to Warehouse Managers, Apprentices and LGV Drivers.  Entering the awards online is completely free of charge and enables organisations to demonstrate their commitment to quality training and acknowledge the exceptional work of staff.  Award nominations open on 3rd January 2018.
Winners will be revealed during a black-tie awards event, also taking place at the Telford International Centre on 21st June.  Guests will have the chance to socialise and network, both with other learning and development professionals and potential suppliers, during a champagne reception and gourmet three course meal. A celebrity host will then announce which individuals, teams and companies have won the prestigious Talent in Logistics Awards.
Tickets for the daytime conference and the evening awards event are now available to purchase at an early bird rate. Special discounts are available for those purchasing conference and awards tickets or a table for the Talent in Logistics Awards.
