IOSH successes marked with staff celebration day

-

The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) held a celebration day for staff to mark its recent successes.

The event – called Working Together, Achieving Together – marked the work done by IOSH members across the world and the receiving of the Investors in People Silver Award in recognition of the way it manages and develops its employees.

Staff at the charity’s head office in Wigston, Leicestershire, attended a session at which they heard presentations from each of the organisation’s Executive Director Team on current and future key activities.

They also had the opportunity to attend information sessions on the future plans for the Institution.

The celebrations continued into the afternoon, with presentations of awards for a series of sporting contests which have been held over the past week, the announcement of the winners of a celebration cake and geranium flower competitions, and the cutting of a cake.

Speaking about the event, held on Tuesday 11 August, IOSH CEO Jan Chmiel said:

“IOSH is having a day of celebration; celebration of the work that our members do in delivering a world of work which is safe healthy and sustainable and celebrating our Silver Investors in People Award, which reflects the work we do in supporting them.

“It was a great opportunity to come together as a whole team to share what we’re doing and to acknowledge everyone’s contribution.”

The prestigious Investors in People accreditation is recognised across the world as a mark of excellence when it comes to workforce management and ensuring high performance.

The gong was awarded following a visit by assessors to IOSH’s head office. Assessment was made against a set of 115 criteria, which explored what IOSH is like to work for.
