Right Management insight informs two leading global counselling handbooks

-

Kevin Friery, clinical director of Workplace Wellness at Right Management, has provided expert contributions to two significant publications on psychotherapy, counselling and workplace trauma.

Long recognised as the definitive text for counselling and psychotherapy in the UK the Sage Handbook of Counselling and Psychotherapy (Sage, March 2012) has recently launched its third edition. In his chapter, ‘Work Based Counselling’, Friery offers insight into the importance of workplace counselling and the role employers must play in looking after the wellbeing of their employees.

The International Handbook of Workplace Trauma Support (Wiley-Blackwell, April 2012), features experts from around the globe and is a comprehensive overview of contemporary standards and best practice when dealing with traumatic events that could potentially trigger workplace paralysis. Friery analyses and advises on the impact that modern communications can have on a workforce’s wellbeing.

Commenting on his contributions, Friery says: “I was delighted to be approached and share my knowledge on these topics in two important industry publications. Manpower’s thought leadership ‘The Human Age’ explains how the principle tool of a business is its people and the development of a well-balanced and resilient workforce is critical for success in a globally competitive world. These handbooks provide an essential resource for practitioners and business leaders to develop their workforces for the better.”
