Culture Amp launches AI Coach to support manager development

-

AI Coach offers tailored coaching grounded in workplace psychology, using conversational AI to support managers through common leadership challenges such as giving feedback, managing performance and having difficult conversations. Integrated with Culture Amp’s broader employee experience platform, the tool provides contextual guidance and action plans based on organisational data and team insights.

The product is underpinned by Culture Amp’s People Science research base, which draws on more than 1.5 billion data points collected over ten years. Its large language model has been specifically trained with industrial and organisational psychology principles to deliver targeted coaching that aligns with real-world scenarios.

Chris Mander, Chief Product Officer at Culture Amp, said, “AI Coach is not just about providing advice; it’s about enabling managers to develop crucial skills, navigate difficult conversations and inspire meaningful action within their teams. With high-quality, psychologically-grounded coaching accessible to all managers at work as part of Culture Amp’s platform of insights and tools for action, AI Coach democratizes coaching to drive more effective action across the whole organization.”

Personalised support in everyday leadership situations

Designed to support time-constrained HR and People teams, AI Coach provides guidance that adapts to the specific context of each manager and team. The tool supports performance conversations, 1:1s and everyday leadership interactions by offering real-time advice and role-playing support.

The system also generates practical resources such as team emails, talking points and other communication content tailored to current organisational challenges and priorities. When used alongside Culture Amp’s Engage tool, AI Coach helps managers translate survey results into focus areas and action plans more quickly.

Richard Taylor, Senior Vice President, People Experience at Nasdaq, commented on the tool’s potential impact, saying, “Culture Amp’s combination of evidence-backed coaching and AI-powered insights democratises access to personalised guidance, empowering managers to lead with confidence in any situation. With AI Coach, organisations can unlock the potential to foster a high-performance culture at scale.”

Boosting leadership capability through conversational AI

One in four managers still struggle to deliver clear and useful feedback, according to Culture Amp. AI Coach is intended to close this gap by offering performance coaching in short, manageable interactions that reinforce learning and behaviour change.

The tool provides a confidential space for reflection and planning, helping managers prepare for key conversations and decision points. It is designed to meet managers where they are — whether they need quick tips or more detailed guidance on a particular issue.

David Perring, Chief Insights Officer of Fosway Group, said, “Support and advice grounded in the individual manager’s team’s context is potentially the game-changer for managers and their management development. The more accurate and pertinent the understanding of context, the better the advice.”

Accelerating action from engagement insights

AI Coach aims to close the gap between insight and action by enabling managers to act on employee engagement data more efficiently. The system highlights relevant survey results and suggests practical steps tailored to the organisation’s strategy, team structure and current challenges.

Managers can be prompted to use complementary tools within the Culture Amp platform, such as Goals and 1:1s, to maintain momentum and consistency in development efforts. This integration supports HR teams in driving engagement and performance improvements more effectively across the business.

By combining AI-driven conversation tools with research-based coaching methodologies, Culture Amp positions AI Coach as a scalable solution for building leadership capability. The product is expected to help HR and People leaders extend coaching support across their organisations without requiring additional internal resources.
