Outsourcing key for struggling HR departments, expert claims

-

An expert has advised HR departments struggling to keep up with the additional demands imposed by the competitiveness of the UK jobs market to consider outsourcing some responsibilities elsewhere.

Recruitment Society chairman Steve Huxham recommended taking pre-emptive action to avoid situations where organisations are likely to find themselves overstretched and stressed the importance of appropriate planning.

“I think the problem is that a lot of HR departments have tried to bring some of this recruiting in-house and it sounds to me as if they’re failing,” he observed. “You need to plan better and organise yourself better.”

Mr Huxham issued a stark warning to HR professionals who have been overwhelmed by the sheer volume of job applications received in recent months, suggesting bosses further up the hierarchy may be forced to look elsewhere for more efficient workers.

Anyone looking for expert tips on how to maintain high levels of performance in spite of current challenges should consider attending the European HR leaders Summit 2011, which will take place in London on June 22nd and 23rd.
