Asda has increased its staff retention levelsRetention rates of employees at supermarket chain Asda has significantly increased and are now at an all-time high.

The supermarket giant has reported that over 67,000 members of staff have now been employed at the firm for over five years.

This was an increase of ten per cent since last year.

Furthermore, employee satisfaction is also now at an all-time high, with less than 20 per cent of the workforce leaving each year.

Asda chief financial officer Judith McKenna said: “Asda has consistently been recognised as one of Britain’s best employers, thanks to industry-leading flexible working schemes and colleague benefits.”

Such benefits include a ten per cent Asda discount, money off vouchers for days out with the children, discounted health care and free legal advice.

Furthermore, since January Asda has paid out more than £65 million to its employees through the colleague bonus scheme and share-save plans.

The news comes as the NHS Information centre reveals that medical vacancies have increased.
