To coincide with National Stress Awareness day on the 1st November 2017 All 4 Games announce the launch of their revolutionary relaxation and stress relieving app . Stress is one of the biggest health concerns in the world and is connected to seizures, high blood pressure and depression so All 4 Games wanted to deliver a proposition to help create a solution through an easy to use and straightforward game proposition.

Developed in conjunction with E-Learning Studios, Dr Gail Steptoe-Warren, Occupational Psychologist and Principal Lecturer at Coventry University’s faculty of Health and Life Science and other stress management experts Soar is an exploration based adventure game designed to restore colour to a stunning but forgotten land. Through using simple tilting or tapping controls players unite the birds and colours to bring beauty back to the island. There are seven levels which encompass beautiful, varied music leaving players in a sense of calm and revitalised.

The design and development teams behind the app utilised numerous game mechanicsand features to promote a positive psychology. Key features to achieve this include the use of relaxing music and rhythm to facilitate an alpha and flow state and generate a feeling of being in a ‘safe and peaceful space’, simple game progression to create easy to understand concepts and conclusive endings and simple and clever art design elements that help to create a positive state of mind.

Gail explains: “The game has an almost immediate relaxing effect. It improves focus and reduces anxiety, lowers blood pressure and heart rate naturally and even works as a sleep aid for people affected with Insomnia.”

Soar is the perfect tool to be utilised on a commute home after a stressful and anxietydriven day in the office. It allows you to leave work at the office and mentally abandon
stressful thoughts and prepare you for a restful and enjoyable evening.
