IT jobseekers see a bright future in Mobile

– 81% of IT pros plan to skill up on Mobile
– 84% think Mobile is set to grow and create more jobs

This week IT pros will watch on as the latest innovations in the mobile industry are showcased at the Mobile World Congress. As Mobile is catapulted into the spotlight, research from specialist IT recruitment website CWJobs.co.uk finds that one in five IT pros (19%) are planning to re-skill entirely to become mobile computing specialists.

A recent survey has revealed that UK businesses will double their Mobile project spend over the next 18 months* – this has opened up significant opportunities for those working in the IT sector and 81% now plan to skill up on elements of mobile to add to their existing skills set.

78% of IT specialists think mobile computing is a good option for graduates entering the industry and advise that those seeking to secure a future in mobile computing should ensure they are proficient in the following skills: JavaScripts, C#, .NET and HTML 5.

Richard Nott, Website Director at CWJobs comments: “Who would have guessed five years ago that apps such as Angry Birds would turn into a multimillion pound product. Mobile computing presents huge opportunities for businesses, and in turn, fantastic career opportunities for skilled IT pros.”
