Improving employee training ‘crucial’

-

Improving skills is 'crucial'Improving the skills of employees through training is "crucial" to help businesses compete in a tough economic environment, one group has claimed.

A recent report by Ofsted has highlighted workplace areas for improvement, revealing that some employees are not receiving the skills for life training they need in language, numeracy and literacy.

In a review into the Train to Gain (T2G) scheme conducted by the group, it was shown that the initiative offers employees the chance to gain nationally recognised qualifications and enhances motivation in the workplace.

An Ofsted spokesperson said: "T2G continues to improve employees’ knowledge and self-confidence at work and many employers report improvements in work practice and staff retention."
