Entitled ‘How To Attract and Keep the Best Talent…For Less,’ it will bring together expert speakers, all with considerable experience of large businesses. Chairing the event is seasoned recruitment journalist and editor DeeDee Doke while other guest speakers include James Saunders from creative recruitment agency 4MAT, who will deliver a talk on the power of brand to attract top talent. Will Winch, from Mishcon de Reya, will discuss the legal practicalities of recruitment, the challenges from social media and the threat from sub-conscious discrimination.  Business psychologist Ruth Williams, of Criterion Partnership, will demonstrate how the right selection process will ensure the right people are hired and retention is improved.

Mercury xRM visionary, Chris Kendrick, will also discuss the importance of IT in recruitment and how to cut the cost and time to hire the best talent. Peter Lowman, from LoveWorkLife, will share his experience of managing over 50 major change programmes with large UK and European companies. He will give valuable insights into what makes people want to join and stay with a company.

The event will be delivered at a pivotal time for business, with Prime Minister David Cameron recently announcing the largest increase in employment since records began. The International Monetary Fund has also predicted that the UK economy will grow by 2.4% throughout 2014, pointing to a bright future for business. These two factors alone will heighten the skills shortage.

Mark Britton, Marketing Manager at Mercury xRM said: “With an increase in UK economic growth and unemployment rates down, businesses will need to compete for the best, highest quality talent. Delivering your brand effectively and utilising recruitment technologies is key to attracting and retaining the best talent for your business.”

Peter Lowman, MD and Co-Founder of Love Work Life, a cutting edge management consultancy delivering major strategy and change programmes into UK businesses, recognises the challenges companies face in attracting and retaining the best talent. He said: “This event promises to be extremely informative. We have a great line up of speakers, each of whom is an expert in their field, and with many years of successful and practical experience working with major companies. Mara Yamauchi’s insights into maximising performance in the world of elite sport and how this can be applied to business will be invaluable.”
