-

Legal & General have announced a new partnership with physiotherapy specialists Physioworld. With over 100 clinics across the country, this new partnership allows Legal & General to offer an even more complete package of Group Income Protection to employers by increasing the treatment services available to their employees.

Physioworld are experts in providing early intervention evidence based physiotherapy and their rehabilitation model helps get employees back to work as quickly and effectively as possible.

The ethos of the company is to provide every patient with the same quality of treatment received by a Premier League footballer or elite performing athlete. The company was in fact founded by Neil McDiarmid, the former Lead Physiotherapist at Birmingham City FC.

In a recent survey, 94.5% of Physioworld patients said their treatment was effective or very effective and 98.1% said they had benefitted from the treatment.

As the latest of Legal & General’s specialist partners, Physioworld, starts working to get people back to work as soon as possible. They have a complete return to work solution commencing with immediate cognitive input to reassure the employee, to a phased return to work with activity specific functional rehabilitation.

Sickness absence costs the UK economy around £15 billion every year. In 2011 around 131 million days were lost through absence due to sickness or injury.

These figures highlight the economic importance of early notification and specialist support to help employees and employers with absence. We draw on our team of specialist partners, like Physioworld, to help get people back to work.

Commenting on the partnership, Diane Buckley, Managing Director of Legal & General Group Protection, said:

“I am delighted that we have been able to announce this new partnership with Physioworld. It enables us here at Legal & General to offer an even more complete package to help employers get employees back to work as quickly as possible. Not only this, but I believe employees will benefit from some of the best physio care in the country.”

Neil McDiarmid, Managing Director of Physioworld said:

“Physioworld are passionate about delivering early intervention treatment into the corporate market. Working with Legal & General provides a fabulous platform to deliver this solution”
