House painter killed in scaffold collapse

A man was killed when a scaffold tower that he was on fell over in Sittingbourne, Kent.

The victim, reported to be in his 50s, was painting the side of a semi-detached house in Chalkwell Road when the structure either failed or toppled.

An air ambulance crew attended the scene but the victim died at the scene from head injuries sustained in the fall.
