busiest day of the year for job applicationsJanuary is well known for being the month of new beginnings. We often look to reinvent ourselves, make resolutions and a fresh start. As a result, the first month of the year traditionally sees a surge of job applications.

Now, the UK’s leading recruitment company, Michael Page has analysed behavioural trends in its own data to predict the busiest day in 2019 for job applications is today, Tuesday 15th January.

Studying the last four years of data in January spanning thousands of applications, the recruiter noted the highest volume of job searches is traditionally on Tuesdays – a day often called the least popular of the working week. In addition, while you can expect to hear the ‘New Year, New Me’ mantra across the country right after New Year’s Eve it is actually the middle of the month which has shown to be the most popular time for applications.
