CQL Group joined by key Government figures at Egyptian seminar on Investors in People

CQL Group successfully facilitated an Investors in People Seminar on Wednesday 20th May 2009, at the British Embassy in Cairo.

The event was hosted by the Honourable Dominic Asquith CMG, Her Majesty’s Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt and focused on the positive impact of Investors in People (IIP), the internationally recognised ‘people’ Standard and business improvement tool, on Egyptian businesses. Also present at the seminar was Bill Rammell, Minister of State, Foreign & Commonwealth Office who addressed the gathering which was attended by 140 Egyptian companies.

Mr Rammell commented: ‘I am very pleased to be visiting Egypt for the first time in my position as Minister of State for Foreign & Commonwealth Affairs. Already, British-Egyptian relations are strong in many fields such as trade and investment and education and skills. I hope to further build on this strong partnership.’

CQL, the Licensed Investors in People Centre for London, are working in partnership with the Investors in People International Centre, to bring IIP to Egypt for the greater benefit of the Egyptian economy, allowing Egyptian organisations in the public and private sectors as well as government employees to experience the benefits already recorded by over 80,000 organisations worldwide.

Another attendee and speaker at the seminar, Dr Ahmed Darwish, Egyptian Minister of State for Administrative Development, stated his intention to work with the IIP framework and drive his department towards gaining Investors in People recognition and encouraged other Egyptian organisations to take up the challenge. Dr Darwish also confirmed that his department will work in partnership with CQL Group to facilitate the Investors in People Standard across other Government departments.

The first such private sector to commit to Investors in People is the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Sharm el Sheikh.
