Companies will miss out on top talent of Generation Z if they fail to create smart offices empowered by technology

The latest official government figures reveal that more young people are entering the workforce than ever before, with youth unemployment falling by 200,000 in five years. With ‘Generation Z’ now entering the workforce, companies in all sectors and industries are under pressure to create an innovative modern workplace that will help them secure the best new talent.

The latest ONS employment figures for the April 2015 to June 2015 quarter, released last week, reveal the percentage of people under the age of 25 who have found employment after leaving full-time education is the highest since the peak of the recession.

With Generation Z now entering the workplace in force, an agile, technology-driven working environment is more important than ever.

Generation Z is classified as those who were born in the mid-90s to early ’00s. According to the recent 2015 Way To Work survey by Adecco Staffing in the USA, the majority (32 percent) of this generation state that their greatest aspiration is to be in their dream job within 10 years from now. Salary is much lower down the list of priorities for these workers with only six per cent saying this is the most important aspect of their first job, highlighting the fact that leading companies must invest in software which will improve the day-to-day experience for every employee.
