Impact of management underlined by REC

Impact of management underlined by RECThe Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC) has highlighted the importance of management staff in the development of the recruitment sector.

Roger Tweedy, director of research at the industry body, made his comments after the publication of a new guide offering best practice advice.

He described how the recruitment market has been transformed in recent years with the introduction of new technology and the impact of the global downturn.

Mr Tweedy underlined how vital it is for management to deliver an effective message to clients and staff during such transitional periods.

He added: “It will be the frontline managers and business leaders in this industry who will be making the decisions that ultimately create tomorrow’s recruitment industry.”

The new REC guide includes tips from industry figures offering recommendations on what makes a good manager.

HR leaders may also find they can pick up some interesting and useful insight at the upcoming Performance Management Forum 2011, which takes place in London on February 15th.
