Recruitment agencies ‘burdened by recession’

-

The recession may have caused problems in recruitmentThe impact of the recession has put a burden on recruitment agencies and firms looking to employ new staff, it has been claimed.

TalentPuzzle said many employers have been inundated with CVs and applications which have not always lived up to the job requirements.

Furthermore, research by the company found 86 per cent of the business owners and HR staff surveyed admitted that that they would like to spend less time dealing with recruitment processes.

And while 88 per cent of respondents asserted they would be looking to make a significant number of permanent hires over the next six months, 73 per cent admitted that because of time constraints, they were limiting their recruitment pool and missing out on potentially good candidates.

Commenting on the findings, Virginia Raemy, chief executive officer of TalentPuzzle, said employing methods to improve the quality of CVs recruiters were receiving could help them to find more suitable candidates.

"To get the right people they are dependent on working with recruitment agencies – they will look through all these CVs and will qualify a handful that they think are perfect for the role," she added.
