In the age of racial and sexual equality, it is sometimes difficult to believe that there is still an issue with gender equality in the UK. Men working full time still, in some instances, earn more than women. The issue is rising on the Government’s agenda though. It has recently been announced that companies of a certain size will be compelled to make public the pay levels of their employees. But is enough being done? Can more be done in terms of legislation to tackle the problem? Or is any legislation that aims to exert anymore governmental control over business a bad idea?
