If you’re considering your next career move then now could be the perfect time! New data from CV-Library, the UK’s leading independent job site, has revealed that the nation experienced a job boom in the last quarter, suggesting that there are plenty of exciting career opportunities out there.

The study, which compared Q3 job market data with that of the same period last year, found that the nation as a whole has witnessed a 12.2% increase in advertised vacancies over the past 12 months. What’s more, some of the UK’s key cities also saw above-average hikes in advertised jobs, making these the top locations to find a job in right now. These include:

  1. Portsmouth – 35.9%
  2. Brighton – 33.3%
  3. London – 25.8%
  4. Bristol – 22.5%
  5. Sheffield – 22.2%
  6. Aberdeen – 20.6%
  7. Edinburgh – 20.3%
  8. Leeds – 14.7%
  9. Manchester – 13.8%
  10. Glasgow – 12.5%

Many cities across the UK witnessed strong increases in advertised pay when comparing year-on-year data, including Aberdeen (21.2%), Bristol (7.5%), Edinburgh (3.9%), and Brighton (3.5%).

Biggins concludes: “It’s clear from the data that not only are businesses continuing to invest in their workforce, but they also recognise the need to offer competitive salaries in order to attract talented candidates.
