World Employment Conference coming to UK

The REC has won the bid to host the 2012 World Employment Conference. The event is the annual showcase for CIETT – the representative body for the global recruitment industry – and brings together recruitment businesses, employers and industry experts from across the world.

The decision was confirmed at the CIETT General Assembly which took place ahead of this year’s World Employment Conference in Sao Paulo. Other recent host cities for the conference include Cape Town, Berlin, Lisbon and San Diego.

Welcoming the win, REC Chair Angela Masters says:

“This is excellent news for the REC and for the UK recruitment industry. There is real value in exchanging views with recruitment professionals from across the world and picking up on the latest developments and trends. For UK recruiters with plans for potential expansion, the conference will also provide updates on different international markets and opportunities to build useful networks.

“The decision to award hosting rights to the REC was based on our track record in organising high-profile events such as the Annual Convention and IRP awards. We look forward to building a world-class ‘World Employment Conference’ and to welcoming the global recruitment community in London in 2012.”

Next year’s World Employment Conference will take place in Rotterdam and will be hosted by ABU, the representative body for the industry in Holland.
