Mark Thompson

Mark leads Hay Group's reward consulting practice for the UK and Ireland, with a focus on developing pay policy, managing pay and benefits and designing incentive plans.  He joined Hay Group in 1999 after a career in a number of HR roles in industrial relations, business partnership and reward for the printing, motor and telecommunications industries.  Most of his career has been spent in the UK, but Mark has worked overseas for more than five years, first in Ireland with eircom and more recently with Hay Group in India, returning in 2009.  He has a degree in medieval and modern history and both his father and his wife are architectural historians, so he spends many weekends exploring old buildings and country houses.  He has three sons, one of whom is off the family payroll with a career of his own, and the other two are in full-time education.
