November boom for manufacturing jobs

-

November saw the highest number of manufacturing jobs advertised this year according to figures released by recruitment software provider, Recruitive.

Despite a decline in the overall number of jobs advertised in November, Manufacturing jobs bucked the trend and rose by almost 17%. These figures support the findings released by Markit/CIPS Purchasing Managers Index report which rose 0.2% to 53.5% in November; any figure above 50 implies that the sector is growing. The survey indicated increased activity in the sector following solid domestic demand offset weaker orders from overseas markets.

Richard Clarke, Managing Director at Recruitive says: “The UK manufacturing market still has a long way to go before it reaches its pre-recession levels, however it is obviously heading in the right direction with 21 consecutive months of continuous growth under its belt.”

Clarke adds: “According to our data, manufacturing wasn’t the only industry to receive a November boom in terms of the number of jobs advertised. The Nursing sector experienced a huge 35% growth and Engineering rose by 12.12%.”
