British Computer Society links up with SkillSoft’s Books24x7

SkillSoft’s Books24x7 online library for business subscribers has signed an agreement with BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT, the UK’s leading professional body for those working in IT, to provide 27 titles in its library.

SkillSoft is a leading provider of on-demand e-learning and performance support solutions. Its regularly updated Books24x7 collection of over 25,000 titles enables users to find rapid solutions to business challenges and update their skills and knowledge on demand wherever they are and at any time. The BCS books will be included in the extensive ITPro selection offering technical support to those in the industry.

SkillSoft aims to increase the number of UK-published titles included in its library to continuously expand Books24x7 worldwide. It currently adds around 900 new titles a year to its ITPro section alone, enabling subscribers to stay abreast of current ideas and technologies.

The titles chosen by BCS range from books linked with specific software certification to those covering more general issues such as business process modeling, business analysis, information security management, IT law and digital rights management.

“IT is a huge, global industry, and with 70,000 members, BCS is an important and respected organization as the Chartered Institute for IT. Not only will this agreement open up access to its publications to a global audience, but it will also give Books24x7 users even more relevant and useful content,” says Kevin Young, SkillSoft general manager EMEA.

Elaine Boyes, Head of Publishing for the Institute says: “BCS books have a huge appeal to the international audiences we serve. We’re delighted to make our book content available digitally to SkillSoft’s subscribers through this agreement.
