National Cycle to work day returns for its third year on 3rd September. The national events aims to encourage employees to cycle to work for just one day.

The Champion of the event, Denise Van Outen, a television presenter with two major charity rides completed, will take part in the day. She invites employers to pledge their support to this free event for their staff and to download resources by visiting www.cycletoworkday.org.

The campaign, Launched by Cyclescheme, the UK’s leading cycle to work provider, aims to see a million people travel to work by bicycle by 2021. It is supported by British Cycling, Sustrans, the Bicycle Association, Act TravelWise, CTC and the London Cycling Campaign.

The event follows research from Cyclescheme, released last year, which shows those who cycle to work are more productive, more focused and less likely to take sick days. Two-thirds of employers agree that cycling to work initiatives have improved their business, saving the economy billions as a result.
