RHA wins unfair dismissal employment tribunal

-

Following an employment tribunal, the Road Haulage Association (RHA) has won an unfair dismissal claim which was brought against it be a former employee.

Roadtransport.com reports the Croydon employment tribunal unanimously voted Gerald Wilson had not been a victim of unfair dismissal when he was made redundant by the association.

Mr Wilson had been employed as an IT systems architect at the RHA’s Weybridge headquarters and was one of 12 staff made redundant when the decision was made to move all IT to one location.

RHA chief executive Geoff Dunning said the group was “delighted” its actions had been exonerated.

He added: “We were entitled to make the changes necessary for the efficacy of our business and make staff redundant and did so in the rightful, legal and proper manner.”

Meanwhile, Alex Frowd, a former delivery driver for Hex Holdings, has been awarded £3,000 by an employment tribunal for unfair dismissal, after telling the court he was the victim of bullying while there, the Telegraph reported.
