A new partnership has been formed between totaljobs.com and JobOppO to help ex-servicemen and women to find employment after military service.

JobOppO is a dedicated jobs board set up by ex-military personnel which helps those who have left the service, or are planning to leave, re-adjust back into civilian life and find new careers. As one of UK’s largest job boards, totaljobs.com, will provide JobOppO users with expert advice on CV writing, interview techniques and other vital skills needed to get back into work.

All jobs posted on JobOppO are from companies who support our troops and chosen charities. These clients have specific requirements for ex-military personnel and also appreciate the potential and benefits to their organisations in recruiting from our Armed Forces.

Kayam Iqbal, Founder of JobOppO, commented: “We are delighted to be working in partnership with totaljobs.com. Many military personnel join the services at a very young age and have little or no experience in writing CVs or interview processes. John and his team bring with them vital expertise in these areas which will equip our users with the skills to get back into work.”

Director at totaljobs.com, John Salt, said: “JobOppO is a fantastic initiative that we are very honoured to support. We have a proud track record when it comes to CSR programmes and the opportunity to give back to our servicemen and women who sacrifice so much for us was something we strongly felt we needed to take.”

A fundraising event, hosted by JobOppO and totaljobs.com, will take place on HMS Belfast on the 4th September in support of three charities – Combat Stress, Healing the Wounds and Help for Heroes. It will also raise awareness of JobOppO and totaljobs.com’s aim to help ex-servicemen find employment.

In attendance will be current serving military personnel from the Army, Navy and Royal Marines and wounded soldiers as well as corporate attendees from Iceland, Marks & Spencer and LinkedIn. Entertainment will be provided by the Royal Air Force Orchestra.
