ILX Group plc, the global software company delivering innovative Best Practice training solutions, has been awarded third prize for the “Best Professional Game with a budget under 40,000 Euros” category for its recently launched ILX PRINCE2® Snakes & Ladders App by the first European Best Learning Game Competition*. The winners of the EBLGC were announced in a ceremony held during the European conferences organised by the LUDUS* project in Ioannina, Greece on 7-9 July 2010.

The ILX PRINCE2® Snakes & Ladders App for the iPhone and iPod Touch was launched in March 2010 with the primary aim to help reinforce core elements of PRINCE2® Foundation and prepare candidates ahead of exams. The game, which can be played individually or connected via Bluetooth with up to four people, aims to reinforce key elements of the PRINCE2® Foundation course by testing the users with prompted questions within a familiar gaming environment.

The award selection criteria included how the game addressed a specific learning challenge; its impact of topic on its field; excellence in game and learning design, playability, and technical excellence.

Eddie Kilkelly, Chief Operating Officer at the ILX Group, commented, “We are thrilled in receiving the award so soon after launching it. Our team of developers at ILX are always striving to bring innovative ideas to our customers and engaging content to our learners. Based on the traditional snakes and ladders board game, this game is a highly engaging mobile learning product and provides learners with the opportunity to test their PRINCE2 level knowledge in a fun and entertaining environment.”

To date, ILX Group has trained over 500,000 people in PRINCE2® across 97 countries.
