MidlandHR’s iTrent cements modern HR and payroll development at Aggregate Industries

-

Aggregate Industries has chosen MidlandHR’s iTrent as its single platform for talent management, workforce planning, HR and payroll.

Tricia Judkins, iTrent development and process improvement manager at Aggregate comments: “The additional functionality offered by iTrent will facilitate our progressive development plans, particularly through process and cost efficiencies, whilst reducing reliance on a central, core resource. In terms of our environmental policies, iTrent is already facilitating greener working practices through e-payslips and online web applications, significantly reducing paper usage and costs. Looking at e-payslips alone, annual savings in excess of £18,000 are anticipated. In addition employees receive e-payslips much earlier than the printed versions.

“The first phase of implementation, which went live in September last year, included core HR, Payroll, Learning and Development, Recruitment and e-payslips, as well as Employee Self-Service for 3,000 people. 800 Aggregate Industry line managers, based in the UK and the Channel Islands, now have access to iTrent’s Manager Self-Service functionality. This provides the visibility of information needed to take care of their teams more effectively and efficiently.

Judkins continues: “The second phase, Web Recruitment, went live during the graduate intake programme at the end of February and facilitated wider general applicants by April. This will improve the quality of applicant data and simplify recruitment administration, in addition to enhancing the candidate experience and ensuring Aggregate Industries remains an employer of choice. Further developments in 2012 will include online leaver details which will be input by line managers. In addition, iTrent’s online starter functionality will enhance the new starter experience and improve what has traditionally been a very time consuming process. Match and Gap reporting will help to provide a quick and efficient analysis of initial applicants and also assist in addressing training requirements in specific employee groups.”

“Having first partnered with us in 2005,” explains MidlandHR’s managing director, Declan McGrath, “we are extremely pleased that Aggregate Industries has chosen iTrent to support its business moving forward as one of the leading players in the construction industry.”

Aggregate Industries produces and supplies a wide range of construction materials including aggregates, asphalt, ready-mix concrete and precast concrete products.
