Is data the holy grail for HR professionals seeking to influence business decisions?

CIPD HR Analytics Conference and Workshop, 19-20 March 2013, London

More than half of HR leaders believe HR data informs business decisions, but just one in three business leaders agree. That’s according to a survey of more than 400 business and HR leaders conducted by the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) launched earlier this week.

Most HR teams have access to more data than ever before, from employee performance to organisation absence rates, but only by measuring the right things, applying the right analytical techniques and effectively interpreting and communicating data to stakeholders, can HR truly help organisations make informed business decisions.

The CIPD HR Analytics Conference and Workshop, in partnership with KPMG, will guide HR professionals through the process of collecting, collating and effectively communicating HR data to help make informed business decisions. This conference and workshop will provide the tools and techniques needed to ensure HR professionals capture and analyse the right data, get the most from it, and help them to build and develop their organisation’s analytical capability.

The conference will include expert speakers from KPMG, Avon Cosmetics, KFC, Deloitte Human Capital and Rio Tinto covering key issues including:

  • The importance of HR analytics, and how it can help to prove the value of HR initiatives
  • Indentifying which metrics are most important to the business, how to collate that data and build a dashboard, and how to present data to build business cases for senior stakeholders
  • Using data to inform an organisation’s talent strategy and help HR identify where skills gaps are likely to emerge
  • Using HR data effectively to put HR at the heart of the strategic decision-making process in your organisation
  • Best-practice examples from leading organisations with a proven track record in successfully implementing HR data analytic strategies.

In addition to the conference, a one day workshop (20 March) will provide delegates with the practical tools and techniques needed to implement an analytics framework into their business
