The CIPD, the professional body for HR and people development, has appointed Louise Fisher as Chair of the Board, plus three new Board members.
Louise Fisher, HR director at Xerox Europe, will replace Dean Royles as he steps down after six years in the role.
Gill Rider, CIPD President, said:
“Louise demonstrates deep knowledge, insight and passion for the CIPD and HR and L&D more broadly. She brings a range of international, commercial and inter-cultural practical experience, coupled with chairing and committee skills from a variety of contexts. Her familiarity with our governance arrangements and Board dynamics will stand her in good stead to provide strong leadership and direction to the CIPD’s Board and committees.”

Louise was a CIPD Board member for six years to April 2014, and continued as a member of its Nominations Committee to date. At Xerox she holds Board accountability for a multi-billion dollar business, providing leadership of the HR function across Europe. She is also the Chief Ethics officer for Xerox Europe, managing the required governance processes.
The CIPD has also selected three new Board members; Anne Sharp, CEO of ACAS, Yetunde Hofmann, leadership consultant and former HR Director Group Sales, Marketing & Premium Cigar at Imperial Tobacco, and Neil Morrison, Group HR Director for UK and International Companies at Penguin Random House.

The breadth of experience these individuals bring will strengthen the CIPD’s ability to serve the needs of its members and others working in HR and L&D, and also to deliver on its broader purpose: to champion better work and working lives for the benefit of individuals and organisations, and by extension for economies and society as a whole.”
The newly appointed board members replace James Cullens, Martin Ferber and Stephen Moir, who are all standing down having completed two three year terms.
