As budgets are stretched the CIPD launches new online resources for L&D professionals

-

The median training budget per employee has decreased by 20 per cent from 2011, according to a survey of employers and learning and development (L&D) professionals conducted earlier this year*. In response, the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) has launched a set of new online products designed to provide practitioners with a cost-effective method of designing and rejuvenating training courses. ToolClicks provides online building blocks covering a range of topics that can be mixed and matched to build powerful training programmes.

Commenting on the launch of the resource, Dr John McGurk, Learning and Talent Adviser at CIPD, said: “As we highlighted in the CIPD/Cornerstone OnDemand Learning and Talent Development Survey 2012, learning and talent is currently operating in a challenging but resource light environment. We need to constantly refresh how we engage people and organisations in learning. ToolClicks provides insight and inspiration for L&D practitioners seeking to renew their skills on management, soft skills and learning. Supported by leading thinkers and consultants as well as two major evidenced based research reports, ToolClicks will make a compelling addition to the portfolio of any L&D practitioner.”

The resource breaks in to three core products: Management ToolClicks, Interpersonal Skills ToolClicks and Learning ToolClicks, designed to help L&D professionals to develop a training course from scratch, refresh an existing training course and keep up-to-date with latest developments in the field of learning and development.

All information provided by ToolClicks is fully endorsed by the CIPD and correlates with the professional standards laid out in the HR Profession Map. The resource will be regularly updated with fresh content and ideas for L&D professionals to adapt as they see fit. By maintaining high quality, pertinent practical activities and ideas, ToolClicks will be an invaluable source for HR professionals responsible for training creation and development.

Free online demonstrations will be available three times a week, every week, over the coming months. Demonstrations will also be taking place at the CIPD Annual Conference and Exhibition taking place next month in Manchester.
