Getting to grips with the latest technology for learning and development isn’t always easy, particularly when there are so many options. Visitors to the World of Learning Conference & Exhibition have the chance to explore the latest innovations at the Technology Test Drive zone.

The comprehensive event for all aspects of Learning and Development (L&D) takes place 30 September and 1 October at Birmingham’s NEC and offers a dedicated area for technology trialling.

Technology Test Drive is back by popular demand and offers visitors a truly interactive experience in testing the latest innovations in learning technology at their own pace. L&D professionals at the show can experience and evaluate the latest innovations from eLearning and mLearning to the most recent LMS from a range of leading suppliers including Acteon, Growth Engineering, Lumina Learning, Mind Click and Self Point.

“The Technology Test Drive offers the ultimate in try before you buy”, explains Andrew Gee, Senior Project Manager for the World of Learning Conference & Exhibition. “For many L&D professionals, knowing which is the best technology to invest in can be a bit of a minefield. Our dedicated zone at the event enables visitors to explore what’s on offer and discover which latest innovation works best for them at their own pace.”

The Technology Test Drive is one of many free interactive features at the World of Learning. The Team Building Zone, introduced this year, is a fun area where attendees can connect with their peers at a variety of group activities and take away ideas to implement in their own workplace. Also new for this year is Team Tonic, where a team of experts from the Learning Architect will equip visitors with strategies for sustaining productivity and resilience in the workplace.

Visitors from overseas can meet with leading suppliers in a one-to one environment at the International Zone, facilitated by UK Trade & Investment.

Alongside these free features are a vast range of educational and interactive seminars. The Experiential Learning Zone has a series of bite-sized skill sessions on key areas such as emotional intelligence and fusion learning. Visitors can enhance their own skill set at the Professional Skill Workshops and attend a packed programme of seminars across two theatres. At the free seminars a host of experts will cover key industry subjects ranging from mobile learning, neuroscience and emotional engagement to blended learning, e-learning, gaming and leadership development.

Following their successful introduction last year, The World of Learning also offers fringe seminars, a free-to-attend stream of the main conference. These are designed for anyone interested in more alternative topics to the central themes of the conference. Industry leaders from the Institute of Leadership Management, the Learning Technologies Group and Sky are all set to share their advice.

The World of Learning 2014 is held in association with the British Institute for Learning & Development, The Institute of Leadership and Management and UK Trade and Investment.
