A cutting edge co-working venue on Chancery Lane in Central London played host to one hundred self-employed women on 29th May for the launch of PCG’s new Women’s Freelance Network.
The network aims to bring together independent female professionals from a variety of sectors to meet, network and collaborate with like-minded individuals.
Speaking at the end of the event, Julie Stewart, Chairman of PCG, said: “The launch of the Women’s Freelance Network was a great success with ladies from across sectors coming together to discuss all things business. Not only are these events an opportunity for women to collaborate, it also builds up a support network for women to show that working independently doesn’t mean you have to be alone.

“It was great to see a mix of experiences in the room. I spoke to ladies who have, like me, been self-employed for twenty years or more and others who are just making the jump into self-employment. Even one lady who had started her own business that very morning!”
The event came at a great time for attendee Lindsey Fish, who had recently launching her own event management company.
“This event stood out as it is great timing for me launching on my own and I got some tips of my own at the very beginning of my self-employment journey.”
Another attendee was Marta Stelmaszak, a freelance translator, who added: “Networking events such as these are an excellent opportunity to talk about the problems faced by freelancing women. Of course, many of these issues concern all freelancers not just women, but it’s great to have a supportive and nurturing environment to discuss the specific challenges that we encounter as freelancing mothers, partners or carers.”
This was the first event of a series of networking opportunities for female independent professionals across the country. The next Women’s Freelance Network event will be held on 24 July in Hub Westminster, an inspiring co-working space for freelancers and independent professionals in the heart of London.
